The base game runs on a 6x4 grid with 4,096 ways to win and a high volatility setting. Most of my early wins came from lower-paying combinations, typically landing between 0.40x and 0.80x my bet. When wilds dropped in alongside cascades, I managed to push some of those wins up to around 2x my bet, especially when two to four combinations connected in a single spin.

Wilds weren’t overly frequent, but they showed up just enough to keep things moving. On their own, they usually supported one or two combinations, but when paired with mystery symbols, the payouts improved noticeably. 

My best base game hit came in at 16.40x, thanks to multiple mystery symbols revealing into matching icons while wilds extended the lines during cascades. Even outside of that, mystery symbols consistently helped form extra combinations, often pushing returns to around 3.90x my bet.

Getting into the free spins didn’t take too long, and for my first trigger, I went with the Coin Collection mode. I stuck with the default six spins instead of gambling for more, which turned out to be the right call. I managed to land a 10x coin early on, and later hit a 50x coin through the progress system, finishing the round with a solid 65.80x win.

The second time I triggered the same feature, things went very differently. Coins appeared less frequently, and many of them didn’t get collected due to a lack of collector symbols. That round ended quickly with just a 4.30x return, which really highlighted how volatile this mode can be.

I also spent some time with the Multiplier Ladder free spins, which felt like the most stable option on paper. Even with decent progression, my returns stayed between 15x and 17.50x, which didn’t quite match the setup.

Surprisingly, the Mystery Symbols free spins ended up being the strongest performer for me. With symbols sticking and repeatedly forming combinations, I managed to land my biggest win of the session at 83.80x. 

Overall, Beast Gains throws a lot at you with its feature-heavy design and constant reel modifiers, but the results can vary quite a bit depending on which bonus you land and how the features line up. The first twenty spins had little to show, with most returns from short royal connections barely hitting 1,2x my bet. The Dragon, only appearing on reels 1 and 6, holds the key to bigger rewards. 

If it lands with at least one Bonsai symbol, Bonsai coins feed 1 to 5 into a meter, every 5 unlock the next tier from 1x to 1,000x your bet, and chests randomly upgrade values or award a respin. Two Dragons on the same spin double all starting values.

With the base game offering little support, Bonsai Spins mode felt like the last branch to grab. It costs 10x your normal bet but guarantees a Dragon every spin, so every Bonsai symbol that appears actually counts.

On the first try at 20x total cost, coins fed the meter, a chest bumped a couple of prize tiers, and the round closed at 3x my total bet, already higher than anything the base game offered. The second spin came in a touch lower but far from disappointing.

I aimed for the full bonus next. Three Bonus symbols trigger Bonsai Spins naturally, one per symbol, with a guaranteed Dragon on each. New Bonus symbols add spins, chest upgrades stick until the round ends, and Bonsai Blitz symbols can award jackpots from Rapid to Mega. Ten dead spins later, I landed four. 

The meter filled, chests pushed values up, and the round closed at 21.5x my bet. 

From that opening teaser to the last spin, I enjoyed the ride. Being fully dependent on features is unusual, but here it works because everything flows through the Dragon. The base game alone would not survive, but when the bonsai blooms, the branches carry real weight. Tricky, but worth a spin.

Free Spins are the only feature to chase, and the tombs won’t give them up easily. A Scarab under any panel triggers 10 spins with that Powerup locked in: random Wilds on reel 1, a global multiplier on reel 2, symbol upgrades on reel 4, or grid expansion on reel 5. Reel 3 unlocks Super Free Spins with all four active, while extra Scarabs boost Wilds or add spins.

Mine landed on reel 3, so all four Powerups fired together. Wilds scattered every round, the multiplier ticked, and symbols upgraded across 10 spins. Sounds like a pharaoh's dream, but the round crawled through low connections and closed at 17.4x my bet.

Outside those two highlights, the desert offered little shade. Wins surfaced every eight to ten spins in the 0.2x to 1.5x range.

Buy Bonus sits at 60x or 300x your bet for Super, but given how the full tomb played out, I’d recommend skipping it entirely.

Overall, I don’t mind a streamlined feature set, but chasing the top prize felt like searching for a single grain of gold in an endless desert, and the base game offered little sense of direction along the way.
