Earlier this summer, we introduced Gems, giving players a middle ground between basic demo play and putting real money on the line.  With Gem Play, you can play supported slots, compete on leaderboards, and add a bit more purpose to each session without spending real money. Now we’re adding another layer to Gem Play: Competitions, giving you a new way to put your Gems to work. How Competitions Work Competitions give you another way to use your Gems by competing against other players for a place on the leaderboard. Every Gem Play session automatically counts toward any competition running at the time. Your position is based on your net Gem profit during the event. So, if you wager 1,000 Gems over the course of a competition and win back 1,250, your leaderboard result would be +250 Gems. Only players who are in profit are shown, so you need a positive result to make the rankings. All games available on the Play with Gems page are eligible, and there’s no separate registration required. There are two types of Competitions: Weekly Competitions, running from Monday through Sunday; Monthly Competitions, running from the first through the last day of each month. The leaderboard lets you see where you currently stand and how your result compares with other players throughout the competition. When the event finishes, the leaderboard is locked, and Gem rewards are credited to the winners. You can follow the latest standings on the Competitions page. Check Previous Competition Results Completed Competitions don’t disappear once the leaderboard closes. The past results section lets you look back at previous Weekly and Monthly Competitions, including who finished at the top, their final profit, and the games behind their results. Stand Out on the Leaderboard Your avatar appears next to your username on the Competitions leaderboard, giving you an easy way to make your entry stand out. New to Gem Play? If you’re new to the system, Gems are SlotsMate’s free play currency, used to play supported slots without spending real money. They’re part of the wider Gem Play system, which also includes leaderboards and your player profile, where you can keep track of your activity and claim more Gems.
